Lamine Yamal just turned 17 this summer, and he can already boast that he contributed hugely to the national team of Spain winning the title of European champion.
He continued to shine in Barcelona since the beginning of the club season, scoring one goal and four assists in the first four rounds of the Spanish La Liga.
Tonight he was a guest on the popular Spanish show “El Hormiguero” on TV Antena 3, where he answered many interesting questions, but the Barcelona fans were most pleased by his answer about his plans for the future.
“I hope I never leave Barcelona. I hope to be Barca’s legend,’’ Jamal said confidently.
Of course, comparisons with Leo Messi have already started, and how does he view those stories?
“Being compared to the best in history is amazing. It means you do something good. It is very difficult to compare with him. I try to be me and be remembered as Lamine,’’ Jamal said.
Barca supporters would love to see Nico Williams in tandem with Jamal, not only on the national team but also in their club’s jersey.
“We like the same things, we watch Tik Tok, we dance, he likes the same music, he does stupid things…”
Will you be teammates in Barcelona next year…?
“I don’t know.”
Would you like to?
“Of course I would, but he’s at Athletic now. I’d like to play with him every week, hopefully, but he’s at Athletic now,” Yamal said.
